Autism and Specialist People Foundation

also called Specialisterne, is devoted to creating opportunities for people on the autistic spectrum. Established 5 years ago, Specialisterne is using the special skills of AS people to create services for the business community, at market rates.

The founder, Thorkil Sonne, has created a foundation, Specialist People Foundation, dedicated to establishing meaningful jobs for 1 million people with AS traits across the world.

The initial goal of Specialisterne has been to establish meaningful and productive jobs for 40 people with autism spectrum disorder. In addition Specialisterne has been the inspiration for similar start-up companies in several countries around the world.

Thorkil Sonne says that in it's 5 years of operation, bridging the business sector with the AS sector at market value, has brought about the vision of a new dream: To provide meaningful and productive jobs for one million specialist people on a global scale.

In order to make the dream come true, Specialist People Foundation has been established as a Not-for-profit organization by the founder of Specialisterne, Thorkil Sonne. At the same time the ownership of Specialisterne was handed over to the new foundation.

Specialist People Foundation will fulfill the dream by seeking funding to carry through projects that will provide additional services. These projects will focus on assessing the knowledge base and personality of specialist people. It will map the business potential with niches in the business sector. Specialist tasks will fit the skills of specialist people, in order to let specialist people be prepared for an active position in society.

The dream was launched at the One Million Specialist People Seminar, April 2nd 2009.
